A Second for Mr Strait

After five years of the CC 40, George Strait has now claimed his second ChartCountry number one single, with "How Bout Them Cowgirls" rising to the top of our weekly chart.

Back in 2004, George's "Desperately" spent a couple of weeks there.

Moving into number two is Adam Brand, with "That Changes Everything" looking to round out the year at the number one spot next week.

Sugarland are speding their third straight week at number three with "Stay", whilst Keith Urban drops back another couple of slots to four, with "Everybody".

Last weeks number one, Gary Allan's "Watching Airplanes", drops back to six.

Billy Ray Cyrus and Brooks and Dunn are the two new faces in this weeks top ten. Billy's single, "Ready Set Don't Go", becomes his first CC top ten hit.

Joe Nichols has the weeks highest mover, with "Another Side of You" rising seventeen places to sit at number sixteen.

Not a good week though for Jason Michael Carroll's "Living Our Love Song" as it drops down to number fourty.

Chart Debuts

There were no singles debuting on the chart this week.

Country Radio
Chart Exits

Time to say goodbye to three singles this week.

Trace Adkins' "I Got My Game On", didn't have enough to make the team, and drops after three weeks, as does Rascal Flatts' "Take Me There", which, despite charting strongly on the R and R charts, failed to impress ChartCountry fans.

Toby Keith loses his "Love Me If You Can", although does still have another single on the 40.

Debuting Next Week

Kellie Pickler's latest single, "Things That Never Cross a Mans Mind" gets it's shot at the 40 after winning through. I'm sure there's a lot of things on Kellie's list that never cross my mind too! You can also check out one of Kellie's American Idol clips on our video page this week.

Australia's The McClymonts, who have been likened to the Dixie Chicks or SHeDaisy, have "Save Yourself" joining the chart. Do the girls have enough fans to save themselves too?

Alan Jackson has the third single to join the chart, with "Small Town Southern Man" looking to reclaim the record for AJ with most number one singles.

New on ChartCountry Radio

We continue the holiday spirit this week, with new country tracks from Kellie Pickler, Toby Keith and Taylor Swift, along with classics such as Martina McBride's "Silver Bells", and Shania Twain's "White Christmas".
